The five entrepreneurs who won the LionCage Pitch Competition

Thirty teams of entrepreneurs gathered on Nov. 8 at Penn State Great Valley for the LionCage Pitch Competition, where they showcased their companies to a panel of judges to seek business advice and compete for prize money. Each team had just five minutes to present their groundbreaking solutions to pressing issues such as healthy food access and navigation for people with low vision.

Brandywine hosts annual youth STEAM event

The Brandywine LaunchBox held its annual Youth Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) and Startup Day on May 7. More than 60 seventh-grade students from four local middle schools (Haverford Middle School in Havertown, Lionville Middle School in Exton, Northley Middle School in Aston and Upper Merion Middle School in King of Prussia) attended the event to learn about physics, entrepreneurship, robotics and more.

Brandywine staff member brings Lunar New Year back to local community

Hoi Michael Cheung, systems administrator in Penn State Brandywine’s Office of Information Technology Services, brought Asian representation to Media to ring in the Year of the Dragon. He, along with Media community members, celebrated Lunar New Year on Feb. 10 with over 1,000 people in the borough.
