The five entrepreneurs who won the LionCage Pitch Competition

Thirty teams of entrepreneurs gathered on Nov. 8 at Penn State Great Valley for the LionCage Pitch Competition, where they showcased their companies to a panel of judges to seek business advice and compete for prize money. Each team had just five minutes to present their groundbreaking solutions to pressing issues such as healthy food access and navigation for people with low vision.

Penn State Global hosts Day of Service, leadup to sustainability conference

On Oct. 12, Penn State Global hosted a multi-campus synchronous Day of Service aimed at getting students involved in sustainability work in their communities. More than 80 students from five campuses – Abington, Berks, Brandywine, Great Valley and University Park – participated in four service experiences, which conclude with the Global Sustainable Action Conference on Nov. 16-17.

Penn Staters invited to share feedback on draft Strategic Plan proposal

A draft proposal of Penn State’s institutional strategic plan has been unveiled and shared with the community for feedback and discussion. All faculty, staff and students at all campuses are encouraged to visit the Strategic Plan website to review and provide feedback on the draft plans for four goal areas.

Applications open for Women in Mentoring program across all campuses

Applications are now being accepted for the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania (TCCP) Women in Mentoring program. Students, faculty and staff across all Penn State campuses have free access to virtual technology programming thanks to a partnership with TCCP spearheaded by Penn State Harrisburg, a longtime member of the council.

2024 Volunteer Awards to highlight strength of alumni network

In living out the Alumni Association’s mission, affiliate groups and inspiring volunteers give back to their communities, support current and future Penn State students, and unite Nittany Lions across the country and around the world. The seven individuals and 11 groups that comprise this year’s class of Volunteer Award recipients represent the best of Penn State’s alumni volunteers.

Brandywine hosts annual youth STEAM event

The Brandywine LaunchBox held its annual Youth Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) and Startup Day on May 7. More than 60 seventh-grade students from four local middle schools (Haverford Middle School in Havertown, Lionville Middle School in Exton, Northley Middle School in Aston and Upper Merion Middle School in King of Prussia) attended the event to learn about physics, entrepreneurship, robotics and more.
